Missive from Arwen – best looking class 40 in middle sea, best looking crew…
Frustrating first night of wind holes and sail change muck ups. We’ve fixed the roller furling gear for the code zeros twice now, and repaired some small tears to the solent. Having dried the skipper’s tears and consumed much Haribo, we’re now comfortably trucking north, and Jen is making the most of the sunshine to repair her prized heads door!
So far no squeaks from Jen and newly trained sidekick Sam still waits as the dolphins have not been forthcoming. The two Marks are proving quite interchangeable – it’s a good job we’ve got one on each watch as they’re eating up the helping duties!
Skipper Austen spent a brief moment planning his titanic sequel on the bowsprit of Arwen, and other than that has been keeping us well fed and well entertained! He’s stealing Jim’s cigarettes though, ssh!’
Disappointing not to be further ahead, but crew chat confirms we are now all 100% focused on our A game – the race is not over yet!
