2022 | Day 2 – Ino XXX

This morning we entered the Messina Straits leading our class. The race started with very little wind which lasted well into the afternoon as we ran North towards Scilly. We stayed longer on starboard than most which set us up well off Etna with good breeze. We had plenty of wind on the nose heading to the straights and we put a good number of tacks in as we approached the entrance aiming to stay in the best of the breeze. In the straights we had light but solid breeze and stayed on the italian side keeping out of the worst of the current. We crossed the channel and exited around the radio tower in foul tide. We then set the zero for the fetch to Stromboli but the wind headed and we are now on J1 with a Swan 50 ahead and our boss rivals behind. All is well on Board Ino as we settle on for a long race chasing the larger boats ahead
