RYC crew is off to Malta for the RMSR

Peter Grueterich

The Rolex Middle Sea Race is one of those bucket list races every serious off shore racer wants to have sailed. This October, Peter Grueterich with his just acquired X-Yachts XP44, fittingly named Xpatriate, is doing just that with 9 more sailors. 8 of the crew are RYC members. Eric and Maggie Deichmann, Jim and Cynthia Dow, John Dunne, Eric Eichmann, Peter Grueterich and Richard Walker will be at the starting line in historic Malta on October 21st. From there competitors will be rounding Sicily and it’s outer Islands on a 600nm course ending back in Malta. Peter bought the boat earlier this year in Mamaris, Turkey where he started a wonderful journey with family and friends along the Turkish coast and the Aegean Islands to Athens, then through the epic Corinth Canal and the Corinth Gulf to the Ionian Islands and finally crossing from there to Malta. “I would not want to miss this for the world and am so

excited to have my favorite sailors join on this great race”.
