Trustmarque Quokka

From Philippe Falle – Deep Blue Racing Team

Quokka arrived in Malta at 0815 this morning. After 346 man hours involving 28 people, an 800 mile truck ride across France, two boats yards and a huge amount of support we have finally made it! The French were awesome, Key Yachting in the UK brilliant, Grand Soleil in Italy delivered when it mattered and the welcome in Malta has been incredible. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and support, without your help we would not be here. Now for the Rolex Middle Sea Race, we are ready! https://instagr.am/p/QzcL9BITbj/

Ali Raja Bluorange on their way!

Siracusa – Malta
Ali Raja Bluorange is expected to arrive in Malta tonight!

We just left Siracusa in sicily where we rested a little bit after a stormy night during the track from Crotone. Malta is 12h in front of us. The sea is preatty quite with a long wave….probably it comes from far away because of the very strong ciclonoc circulation we have on the western part of sicily. Our route should remain on the border of it till Malta….so…let’s see if Ali Raja will fight again with the energy of nature!

Life is a rhythm!

Very interesting night

Just about to crash on one more fishing boat, we managed to keep the
bow up the course and gained those 5 degrees just enough to pass 2
boats early this morning
Very tactical race anything can happen after Gozo to Valletta
I had a quarrel (!?) this morning with 12 dolphins playing with Atame
hull maybe they supposed she is a older sister due to the same colour,
but I need clear water to race! Come back after the finishing line
please.

Ah well…

Having led on corrected for quite a while the wind gods were not smiling upon us today. We are just now approaching the entrance to the harbour for the finish, but I don’t think we are going to make it in time to win. We are probably going to be 30 mins too late. It looks like ARTIE kept the breeze all the way and unfortunately we’ve spent most of the afternoon in 5 knots of breeze.

Thems the breaks!

Congrats to the crew of ARTIE, worthy winners of the 2011 Rolex Middle Sea Race.

Definetely still going to have that juicy steak and fries regardless!!
